Join Chaitali this September for a special three-part yoga series honoring the Divine Feminine in celebration of Navratri, the Hindu festival honoring the Goddess. Each Sunday, we will explore the powerful energy of a different Hindu goddess, weaving in archetypes of the sacred feminine from cultures around the world.
Sunday, September 14: Durga & The Fierce Feminine
In our first class, we’ll connect with the fierce and protective energy of Durga, the warrior goddess who blesses us with sacred boundaries. Through a powerful and grounding practice, we’ll explore how to cultivate inner strength and protect our energy. We’ll also draw inspiration from fierce feminine archetypes from other cultures, such as the Celtic warrior goddess The Morrigan and the Egyptian goddess of healing and destruction, Sekhmet.
Sunday, September 21: Lakshmi & Abundant Flow
The second class is dedicated to Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance, prosperity, and good fortune. This fluid and heart-opening flow will help us tap into our inherent worth and invite abundance in all its forms—love, joy, and material wealth. We will honor the generosity of the Divine Feminine by also connecting with goddesses of prosperity and beauty, like the Yoruban goddess Oshun and the Greek goddess of the harvest, Demeter.
Sunday, September 28: Saraswati & Creative Wisdom
For our final class, we will honor Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, creativity, and the arts. Through a mindful and meditative practice, we will explore the flow of inspiration and tap into our creative potential. We will also draw upon the universal essence of feminine wisdom by referencing the strategic intelligence of the Greek goddess Athena and the deep intuition of the Egyptian goddess Isis.
All classes will be held from 10am to 11:15am at Neighborhood Yoga. You can sign up for the full series or drop in for individual classes.
